7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. — 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
There are three power gift, faith, gifts of healings, and working of miracles. The gift of faith is commanding power it is the supernatural ability to believe and speak to release power. The gift of faith is manifested through commands and decrees.
Old Testament examples of the Gift of Faith
10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel. — Joshua 10:10-14
The children of Israel were summons by the children of Gibeon for aid because they were threatened by the Amorites. The children of Israel and the children of Gibeon had a covenant. Joshua got the military together and went up to Gilgal to help the Gibeonites. Joshua received a word from God there he had no need to fear because He had already the Amorites into his hands. They engaged in war and as they did the Amorites seeing they were defeated fled, but Joshua seeing that the day was well spent commanded the Sun and Moon to stand still. The scripture says that God hearkened to Joshua’s voice and extended the day according to Joshua command. That was the gift of faith in operation.
The New Testament and the Gift of Faith
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. —- Act 3:1-8
Peter and John were own their way to the Temple in Jerusalem at 9:00 am prayer and they were stopped by a lame man seeking an offering but Peter responded for the man to look at him and John. Once he had the man’s full attention he commanded man to rise and walk. The man leaped and walk and began praising God. It was through the operation of the gift of faith that the lame man was healed.
There are two levels of anointing in the Gift of Faith
- The Kingly Anointing
- The Imperial Anointing
The Kingly Anointing
10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment. — Proverbs 16:10
The kingly anointing is an anointing of authority. The kingly anointing rebukes, binds, and loosens. The kingly anointing is the exercising of the authority over the powers of darkness. This kind of anointing addresses problems and corrects them.
JESUS and the Kingly Anointing
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, 34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. 36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about. 38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. 39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.— Luke 4:33-41
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him — Mark 4:36-41
Here are three examples of Christ Jesus exercising the kingly anointing. He rebuked the evil spirit, the fever, and the wind. Through the kingly anointing we can rebuke evil spirits, physical conditions and storms.
The Imperial Anointing
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. — Job 22:28
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. — Matthew 17:20
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. — Luke 17:6
The Imperial Anointing is based on imperial authority. It is commanding power. The Imperial Anointing gives a person to command what they desire. You shall decree a thing and shall be established. Jesus and His disciples demonstrated the imperial anointing throughout their ministries.
CHRIST JESUS and The Imperial Anointing
1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. — Matthew 9:1-7
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. — Matthew 12:10-13
There are more things written showing operating the Imperial anointing than the Kingly anointing. He often commanded what He desired. The Imperial Anointing is commanding faith. The Imperial Anointing always responds to faith. When Jesus saw the faith of the group who brought the one sick of palsy He responded with the Imperial Authority. He told the man to arise and take up his bed. To the man with the withered hand He commanded stretched forth your hand and the man responded in faith stretching forth his withered hand and it was restored.
Peter and the Imperial Authority
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. 34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. 35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord. 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. 37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. 38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. 41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. 42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord. — Acts 9:33-42
The Apostle Peter demonstrated the Imperial Authority first in Lydda and then Joppa. In Lydda Peter saw Aeneas a man who was sick with palsy and he commanded that Jesus Christ had made him whole therefore he should make his bed. Aeneas obeyed the command and arose immediately. As a result two cities were saved Lydda and Saron. In Joppa He raised a disciple named Tabitha from the dead through the Imperial Authority. All believers can grow up in Imperial Authority.
The Apostle Paul and The Imperial Authority
6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: 7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. 10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.— Acts 13:6-12
The Apostles of Barnabas and Paul travelled to Paphos and were called by Sergius Paulus the deputy of the country to hear the word of the Lord. As Barnabas and Paul ministered to Sergius Paulus a Jewish false prophet named Barjesus who was known as Elymas the sorcerer kept trying to turn the deputy from the faith. Paul filled with the Holy Spirit addressed the sorcerer and decreed that the sorcerer would be blind for a season which happened immediately.
